“No Child Left Behind (NCLB) is to motivate the under-privileged students to focus on education and career building. This consists of two segments, namely, “After School Teaching” and “Joy Of Reading”. This program is attempted for students from city schools and for students in specific villages.“
1.After School Hours
Focus
NCLB' motivates the students to focus on education and career building. The program is designed around the after school hours.Scholarships are offered to deserving, meritorious students from sixth grade to twelfth grade. Emphasis on Science & Maths helps students to appreciate the concepts.
Nutrition And Followup
Nutritious food and snacks provided to children facing potential malnutrition. Students’ health is monitored through medical campus by Sai Healing Trust.
Additional Inputs
Additional inputs provided on computer education. Instilling self-confidence is attempted through the programs by “Born to Win” organization, Career counselling for Professional programs are value additions. Value based education and curriculum based education equip the children to face the challenges in life.
Soft Skills
Creating learning centres in schools for providing soft skills such as spoken English, reading in English and mother tongue is part of the objectives. Libraries are set up for promoting personal interest in reading.
2.Joy of Reading
Joy Of Reading
The vision of Joy of Reading ( JOR ) is to spread the pleasure of reading everywhere amongst children. Setting up of a library and implementation of the Joy of Reading Hour which includes 'Read Aloud' sessions and activities related to the books read, promotes the pleasure of reading and enhances the imagination and creativity in children. Joy of Reading' sessions are organised through volunteers.
